In 1967 the Tour de France organisers decided to revert to the national team format they used from 1930 until 1961. Simpson built his entire year around leading the Great Britain team to what he hoped would be a place on the podium at the very least. This jersey is a copy of the Peugeot-BP branded Great Britain team jersey Tom raced in during that fateful Tour de France.
Simpson focussed on stage racing instead of the classics for the first time in 1967, winning Paris-Nice and two stages of the Vuelta a Espana, which in those days was the first Grand Tour of each year. He started the 1967 Tour well, but fell ill during a big Alpine stage. He was still 7th overall on the morning of July 13th, but his story and his life ended later that day on the slopes of Mont Ventoux.
This is a Limited Edition jersey with the Union Jack flag sewn on - like the original.

Recently bought their La Vie Claire retro jersey & was so impressed, had to get the Tommy Simpson 1967 retro jersey. I’m 6’4”, 12st & slim build. The large size fits me perfectly. Snug but not tight, well made & it looks great. The only problem is Prendas do so many, the range is phenomenal. I’ve got my eye on another but I’m not sure my wife would be impressed. Highly recommended.
